Today was Faith's last day of school for the year, the last day of Second grade, and the first day of the summer break. Today her class held their annual "Growth Ceremony" where the teachers recognize the successful completion of the school year, and celebrate the wonderful growth made by each of their students. The teachers and aides have done so much for the kids - this ceremony in itself is a testament to this as this is a major change from the regular daily schedule.
This afternoon started with an arts and crafts session, making paper windsocks and spiffy custom-decorated sun visors. Follow this up with a charismatic rendition of the
Macarena, the Chicken Dance, and a few dozen rounds of the Hokey Pokey and you will find yourself with some hungry children.
Bring on the snacks...need to get in that last sugar fix before heading home for summer vacation. But they really saved the best for last when we were treated to the class signing Louis Armstrong's What a Wonderful World. For your viewing pleasure, and as a reminder...
