It's a Wonderful World

Today was Faith's last day of school for the year, the last day of Second grade,  and the first day of the summer break.  Today her class held their annual "Growth Ceremony" where the teachers recognize the successful completion of the school year, and celebrate the wonderful growth made by each of their students.  The teachers and aides have done so much for the kids - this ceremony in itself is a testament to this as this is a major change from the regular daily schedule.

This afternoon started with an arts and crafts session, making paper windsocks and spiffy custom-decorated sun visors.  Follow this up with a charismatic rendition of the Macarena, the Chicken Dance, and a few dozen rounds of the Hokey Pokey and you will find yourself with some hungry children.

Bring on the snacks...need to get in that last sugar fix before heading home for summer vacation.  But they really saved the best for last when we were treated to the class signing Louis Armstrong's What a Wonderful World.  For your viewing pleasure, and as a reminder...

Elegance Simplified by

You know that you want one, or know someone who will want one.
Each of these beautiful, pure copper bracelets was hammer-forged, shaped and hand-polished especially for Raise The Woof by Silversmyth's very own Julie Hiltbrunner.  The bracelet is designed to be put on from the side of the wrist and turned to the front.  The bracelet can be gently formed to the wearer's wrist after it has been put on.  It is not meant to be worn tightly and should be allowed to move freely.  Each is a work of art with no two being identical.

We shall soon have a limited number of these bracelets available as part of our fundraising efforts.  A timeless piece waiting to be sent to you.  Some are stamped with "Woof" and "Silversmyth" while others are hand-engraved.

They will be available for $30 + actual shipping.  Each bracelet is shipped to you in a gift box, with care instructions enclosed.  Pickup at Bella Bella Cupcakes in Silverdale is also an option for those local in the Kitsap area (Please tell us this in your comment).

If you are interested in purchasing one (or more) please leave a comment below, ensuring your email address is correct.  We will be invoicing through PayPal as the bracelets are available.

They are on their way to us - yours can be on the way to you very soon.

With a Little Help - Naturally 4 Paws

Today I am going to let this amazing company speak for themselves. I am still almost speechless. :)

From Naturally 4 Paws June Newsletter:

Our 5th Birthday!
This month we are proud to announce the celebration of our 5th birthday!!! It’s hard to believe that five years ago we opened our doors and wondered if anyone (besides us) believed that natural nutrition for animals were critical to their health and well being.
In September 2005, two Seabeck residents decided they were tired of driving all the way to Gig Harbor to find quality food for their three fur-kids (Rascal, Rusty and Rowdy). So they spent 8 months studying labels, researching ingredients and posing tough questions to food manufacturers. Naturally 4 Paws was born!
In June 2006, our doors were thrown open to the public... with 2000 square foot of retail space, two self-serve bathing tubs and two owners dedicated to educating our local animal loving community by promoting only natural, healthy products.
In 2008, we expanded our bathing facilities and added our 1800 square foot Training & Events Center, where Noel Ritter from Guiding Hands Pet Obedience and Sandy McFarlane now teach a variety of canine classes four days a week.
Fast forward to today... Naturally 4 Paws has a retail space that triples our original size, allowing us to bring you an even larger variety of natural foods, healthy treats, unique accessories and great services.
This year, we moved our self-serve bathing facilities and opened our full service Natural Grooming Salon, with two of the friendliest and professional local groomers joining the Naturally 4 Paws family.
We now employ 15 local animal lovers with a variety of backgrounds and are extremely lucky and blessed to have found so many loyal customers and friends. We would like to personally thank each of you for your patronage and support in our endeavor to benefit and further the interests of Kitsap County’s animal loving community.

Thank You!

Raise the Woof! Fund
While one purpose of each birthday party is to have fun and bring together our local animal loving community, the other important purpose is to raise funds for a worthwhile local charity cause.
This year the mother of a local military family contacted us for assistance in raising funds to pay for their autistic daughter’s professional service dog training.
Faith belongs to a local submariner family and she has a long list of debilitating medical issues. An organization called Animal for Autism provides specially trained service dogs for those in need. Unfortunately, the cost to train one of these animals is significant... $14,000!
So this year, all funds raised from the sale of our Birthday Raffle Tickets, Summer Fur-lympic Games, Treasure Hunt and Nail Trims will go directly to the Raise the Woof! Service Dog Fundraiser.
You can read more about the fundraising efforts underway for Faith by visiting the following website:

Faith’s website also has a link to another site that tracks the progress of her service dog’s (Bella) training.
